What To Expect

Our newborn photography sessions are set in a welcoming, homey studio located in Lawrenceville, NJ, ideally within the first three weeks after your baby arrives. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for your entire family to join in, with poses for mom, dad, and siblings too. We style our newborn sessions with premium props crafted from natural materials like wood, as well as soft, luxurious fabrics such as wool, mohair and cashmere to ensure your little one’s comfort. Anna’s heart is set on more than just taking photos; she’s passionate about creating keepsakes that you can hold onto and pass down through the family. 02. Pre-Consultation - "Designing Your Dream Shoot”

During our pre-consultation, we dive deeper. It’s all about personalization here. We’ll pick the perfect date, discuss what outfits work best, and set a scene that reflects your family’s style. We’ll cover all the details, from safety to comfort, ensuring we’re fully prepared to celebrate your baby’s first photos in a way that’s as unique as they are.

03. Session Day - "Capturing the
Magic”

The session day is where the magic happens. Our studio is a calm, safe haven where your baby’s comfort rules. We take it slow, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, and changes. Relax and enjoy the experience while we create beautiful portraits, capturing everything from the tiny yawns to the curl of their toes. These sessions generally last from 1.5 hrs to 2.5 hrs

04. Final Images - "Your Memories, Ready to Cherish"

Once the session is complete, the anticipation builds for the final reveal. One week after the session we connect to review gallery of these timeless images, ready for you to choose your favorites that craft the story of your newborn’s early days. Anna will then personally edit these images. Together, we’ll also select the best ways to display your new art, from prints to albums, ensuring these moments are always within reach. In about 2 to 4 weeks after you pick your favorite photos and order your wall art and albums, they’ll be ready for you to enjoy in your home.

When is the right time to book my photo session?

We recommend to schedule your newborn’s photo session ahead of time. This way, we can chat about how you’d like the session to look, the styling, props, color themes and go over any questions you might have. We know life gets really busy once your baby is here, so we’ll get all the planning done early to make things smoother for you.

What is the ideal timing for a newborn photo session after birth?

Newborn photo sessions are ideally done within the first 2-4 weeks after birth to capture the earliest moments of your baby’s life when they are still very sleepy and flexible. Ahead of your session, you’ll receive a simple Prep Guide with tips to get both you and your baby ready. We understand new parents have a lot on their plates, so our process is designed to be stress-free. Just bring your baby and their nourishment, and we will handle the details.

How long does a newborn session typically last?

Newborn sessions can last between 2-4 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and comforting breaks to keep your baby content.

Can parents and siblings be included in the photos?

Absolutely, we love including family members in newborn sessions! It’s a great way to capture the new bond and celebrate your growing family.

Do I need to bring any props or accessories?

We have a selection of premium props (wraps, outfits etc..) and accessories (bonnets, headbands, toys etc..) to style your session, but you are welcome to bring any personal items you wish to include.

What if my baby is fussy during the session?

It’s normal for babies to be fussy. We’re very patient and experienced in soothing and ensuring your baby is comfortable and safe throughout the session.

What should parents and siblings wear to the session.

For a natural look during the newborn session, opt for simple, solid-colored clothing in neutral or soft tones, avoiding busy patterns and logos. Moms can choose a basic tank, long-sleeve shirt, or a flowing dress, while dads may prefer a plain t-shirt. Ensure nails are tidy, as they’ll be visible in the photos. Clothes should fit snugly to avoid a disheveled appearance, and Anna is on hand to assist with outfit selection during the styling discussions.
